God touched me and healed me of hypothyroidism. I lived a very healthy childhood until the end of my first year of college. Within a month of coming home from school, I was diagnosed with both Lymes and hypothyroidism. That began a process of years of doctor’s visits, hospital visits, and physical therapy. At the conclusion of my senior year of colleges I was also diagnosed with a condition called vasil vagal syncope, which would cause my blood pressure to suddenly drop and I would collapse.
For years I have prayed for healing, and the difficult thing was that none of my illnesses really caused me pain and they were not a constant problem, so it was always difficult to determine whether I had been really healed. As the years have gone by I have been treated for these conditions, I have been healed of my ailments with the exception of the thyroid disease. The problem with thyroid disease is that in order to see if you are healed of the disease, you have to go off of the medication, which doctors are not usually willing to do. One of my doctors told me that if I went off of the medication then I could have a stroke.
In a final attempt to receive my healing from this disease, I found a new endocrinologist in January. This doctor did a blood test on me and found that I did not have the immune deficiency that most people with thyroid disease have. So after a few months of being under his care, he permitted me to stop taking the medication to see how my body would respond. He told me that in his 17 years of practice he had never let anyone go off of his or her medication. He seemed unsure of how my body would respond. I told him that I would pray and God would heal me, he told me that this would not help.
So I received prayer from some people at church before and during that time and I prayed for my healing every time that doubt came in my mind. Last week I went to get my blood test and this week when I went to see the endocrinologist he told me that there was no sign that I had thyroid disease anymore. After nine years of being treated for it, I am totally healed!
